This Skill Ensures That AI Won’t Take Your Job

Many of my online and 1-on-1 students have been asking: "What about AI? It can make music and sound, so there's no reason they would hire a person instead."
I get where this worry is coming from: We're hearing constant fear-mongering about how the AI revolution is here, and how we just need to roll over and realize that our work is just going to be replaced.
But, there is a skill that my fellow audio folks and freelancers can focus on that is irreplaceable, rare, and will be in-demand forever. A skill that easily sets them apart from LLMs and many other people, too.
And that skill is curiosity.
A curious person realizes that they do a *lot* more than just "make sound." They realize the tremendous value in being someone who's interested in what they do.
Remember that all of these AI tools just sit around waiting for us to prompt them. Waiting for us to tell them *exactly* what to do. If that's how we behave, then sure, we'll get replaced.
But a curious person goes first. They ask first. They wonder, they theorize, and they solve problems before they even needed to be told to.
To the best clients? The ones that are happy to pay for your work? That's invaluable.
